Hello Gwinnett Furs!
We have a couple of updates for you relating to our Discord, our new Telegram group, and some new website updates.
Communication Platform Updates:
Discord Server
The Gwinnett Furs discord server will remain unchanged in relation to current events. A Telegram group has been created in the event that Discord features become unavailable or the user experience is diminished on the platform and you’re encouraged to join our Telegram group by clicking here.
Telegram Group
We’ve introduced a new Telegram group supported by our existing moderation team. It isn’t an exact one to one of what discord offers but it does offer a chat platform which won’t run the risk of asking you for PII (Personally identifiable information)
Website Announcements
Previously, community announcements were made on Discord. In support of centralizing communication, organization announcements will now be made on our website by clicking here.
Ad-hoc event announcements and discussions can still be found on our Discord and Telegram groups.
New Team Member(s):
New Moderator
Please welcome Figment in joining our team! He will be assisting with moderation on the telegram chat as well as some event planning activities.
How to Apply as a Volunteer
If you’re interested in the following roles, please reach out to us here
We’re currently looking to empower these roles:
Event Host
Community moderation
VR Chat Host
Don’t see a role that fits you but you still want to contribute? Apply anyway, let’s see what you’re passionate about!
Website Updates:
Event Form Submission
With our expansion into Telegram as a platform, the need to communicate event information in a central location increases. We encourage you to use our new form found on our website here so that events can be found in a central location.
The process for getting an event onto the website is as follows:
Submit an event at the form described above.
A member of the website team (Azul, Rox, Zhorah) will review the submission and ask you any clarifying questions.
If the event is approved, it will be listed on the website. For any changes related to the event, please work with Azul, Rox or Zhorah for those updates.
Members are not obligated to use the website for events, just know that those events may not be highlighted at the end of the year and we won’t have visibility into how many people attended and who to thank for facilitating the event.
Policies Page
We’ve introduced a new policy page for clarity on what policies and guidelines should be followed to participate with Gwinnett Furs. Each policy is in support of our mission. Read more about it on our website here.
Have a great weekend,
Dens
